everyday scenic, hopkins center for the arts thru October 27
My work is rooted in the act of seeing - finding and revealing transcendence in the everyday stuff of the world.
In this body of work, I’ve focused on instances of nature that would typically be overlooked as spent, ugly, drab, dead, or unwanted.
These images consider the rich subtlety of a limited color palette, and push the limits of negative space. I explore natural subjects as formal elements with a tendency toward minimalism & abstraction.
